Hikiän have been following closely the latest news from Hong Kong about honey samples where they found plant sugar and antibiotics from various samples. Hong Kong consumer council has told that they have found for example other sweeteners from manuka honey. These sweeteners were anything from syrup to plant sugar. It was also discovered that Hong Kong consumer council found antibiotic residues from honey samples that can damage persons fertility and cause cancer. Hikiän wants to be clear with the statement that it is totally unacceptable to mix honey with syrup or plant sugar. Also antibiotics should not be used in any case. Consumers deserves to know what their products are made of and where it was manufactured.

Since the beginning of our journey we at Hikiän have focused on pure honey that has no impact from any other substances. We are really proud to say that you will not find antibiotics, pesticides or plant sugar from our products. All our products are made in Finland.

There are no antibiotics in Hikiän products. In fact, there is no need to use antibiotics at all with bees if you treat them in a correct way. Hikiän is also under the Organic certification process which includes regular check-ups from local council. We are proud to say that we will be Organic certified in autumn 2018.

Hikiän keeps the beehives in the middle of the wild forests so the landscape where the honey is collected from is as pure and clean as possible.
